Uric Acid Treatment – The Cure That Doctors Aren’t Talking About

Hello there, my name is Sarah and welcome to my Uric Acid Treatment blog. I’m not really into computers and it’s even awkward for me to actually be blogging. But I’ve manage to gather some home remedies that seem to help my father and brother to control their gout and I’m just sharing with you some of the things that have worked for them. So what you’ll find in this blog is the methods that I’ve used to help lower their uric acid level and keep them from getting a gout flare up. It’s worked so far and I just wanted to share this with as many people as possible.

I’ve been taking care of my brother and father for a few years now. Whenever a gout flare up happens to either one of them they are normally in a lot of pain and there’s very little I can do except to try to relieve the pain. Often when that happens we’d go see a doctor but all they do is prescribe pain killers and something to lower down your uric acid level temporarily.

In the end the situation got worse for my father as the gout started to affect his ankle joints. It was disheartening to see either one of them in so much pain. What was even more frustrating was how the medicine wasn’t curing them at all and that these men I love would actually lose their jobs if their gout gets out of hand.

Not wanting to put my faith in the same doctor again, I decided to look for more information on the internet. Not even knowing where to start, I begin reading and reading a lot of information that is until I stumbled upon a Dr. Scott Saunders who was at the time endorsing some health related books. Miraculously one of the was a way to actually manage gout attacks and lower your uric acid level. I was very skeptical of course as I’d done shopping online but I wasn’t sure about purchasing medical information the same way until I saw that Dr. Scott Saunders was the real deal.

It only cost me 20 bucks, but I’ve never regretted a cent of it. I can’t say for certain if getting prescribed medication again would have any long term effect but I Can Say that I never had to worry about my family’s gout again after I’ve bought the guide. What really sealed the deal for me was that there were quite a lot of video testimonials on how it works and even reviews from well establish names like AOL, CNN and the New York Times. If this could save my brother and father from their pain as well as constantly rising medical cost, I was all for it.

Diet For Gout Suffers – The One Diet and The Proven Cure.

For the proven diet that made my father and brother gout free, Click here.

So what causes gout in the food again? Let us start with what you can’t eat. Why? Because god only knows what your diet is or was, and the best thing I can tell you is what not to eat because then you can do yourself that favour and eat only what isn’t on the list. But be smart, eat in moderation, consider this a life changing diet that will shoot you in the leg if you don’t buck up. It’s a hell of a motivation but if my brother can get through it, I believe anyone can.

The Gout Diet Foods to Avoid List:

  • Beef
  • Processed Food – sausages, ham,
  • Innards e.g. organs, guts
  • Beans & Nuts (so no more mix nut candy bars, peanut soup, peas)
  • Pork – Bacon (This was a tough one for my brother)
  • Mushrooms
  • Asparagus
  • Shellfish, Crabs, Prawns, – Most seafood except some fish.
  • Deer or game meat (if you’re a hunter like my dad)
  • Cauliflower
  • Spinach

Well that’s about all there is to this list I keep away from my brother. In case you’re wondering what all this food contains? Purines. High concentrated doses of it too. Purines when digested makes more uric acid then a Gout sufferer can handle. Increasing the likelihood of a Gout flare up that will hurt so bad it’ll make a grown man cry. Believe me, you don’t wanna see a loved one in pain or crying.

So that being said, if that’s all the food I can’t feed my brother, what do I feed him with? From all my consulting and searching and asking some of my friends and the library, this is the one list that I keep hanging on my fridge till this day. I don’t make it my grocery list, cos I still love to eat other stuff, but I do make sure I plan out the food for my brother with it. Oh and if you’re gonna eat out with someone who has gout, go with the safest on the menu, salads with chicken breast meat (just make sure you ask what’s in the salad).

Food that is Okay list:

  • Berries (Cherries, strawberries, cranberries, raspberries, you get the picture)
  • Juice (Best juice is from those berries)
  • Eggs
  • Dates
  • Chicken ( In moderation please- Gout doesn’t make you a vegetarian)
  • Cereals
  • Papayas
  • Vegetables ( Cabbage, Parsley, Celery, Lettuce, Pumpkin, etc)
  • Fruits ( Guavas, oranges, apples, peaches, pears, bananas)
  • Potatoes
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Barley
  • Muesli
  • Dates

It’s a long list with many options but it is some of the best natural remedies for gout. I do my best to cook up something he likes out of this list. Mixing and matching helps keep the variety tolerable, but the best part is getting a blood test for him and seeing the results go down. It’s a heck of a mountain to try to climb, but like anyone want with Gout knows, its best to get used to it then try to get use to the pain.

What Is Gout and What Causes it – The Astounding Truth and Cure

First off, Gout is a medical condition. It is a form of arthritis that causes swelling and extreme pain in your joints, hindering or down right crippling movement. In most cases, Gout is said to be most severe in the first 24 hours, causing huge discomfort due to the constant needle like pain on the joints with most cases starting out from the big toe. Personally, I feel that it is best to splash some cold water on the affected area or have an ice pack handy to try to numb the gout affected area a little while you make your way to the doctor or a medical facility.

Now I have a brother who suffers from gout since he was 24 and I’ve been taking care of him ever since. Gout is hereditary for the most part, so we should have expected it since our daddy had the Gout too.

Now Gout happens when you eat too much food that contains purines. What are purines? Basically they’re in nearly everything you eat, but some are more highly concentrated than the others (I’ll get to that in awhile). What happens is that our body does what it does best to break down purines into what you might associate gout with “uric acid”. Uric acid actually helps to maintain our blood vessels by bonding with them and keeping them from being damaged, however, too much of it results in them crystallizing themselves.

Why is crystallizing so bad you might ask? Well if too much of a good thing is bad for you, uric acid my friend, is real bad for you. These uric acid crystals form into sharp crystal spikes that “cling” to your joints and organs. Obviously this then causes an inflammation which results in swelling and the huge amount of pain.

Now like I said earlier, gout is primarily caused by what you eat that produces a high concentrated dose of purines. What this means to you or your loved one suffering from gout is simple, watch what you eat of your body will eat you alive (from the toe up). You have to do something to reduce the uric acid production in your body and the best way to do that is to cut down or simply abstain from eating high pure purine food.

What happens if you don’t control your diet? Well that’s real simple now, Gout will just pay you another visit. It’ll knock on the door of your big toe a couple of times, and after it gets itself familiar with your toe it figures, why not and will probably hit your ankles next. You see Gout is like the nosy cousin you never really liked, causes too much trouble and blames it all on you. It doesn’t stop at the toe. It is an ambitious and hateful condition that loves your joints.

If you think walking with half your foot is bad. Try walking without a leg. If Gout ever reaches your ankles, you can consider getting a cane to help shift the weight of the leg from the joints to your hands. It doesn’t ease all the pain, just a little, but only enough to get you to the doctor for another round of painkillers.

If for some unholy reason you still do not care about yourself and your body or about Gout in any way, then you may as well invest in a wheel chair cos the next place Gout will be going is right up to your knee. Well I don’t even want to know how that’ll feel, but I can tell you one thing. My brother has never gotten that far, and he ain’t ever wanna go there. So if you think you don’t ever wanna feel someone stab you in the toe, ankle and god forbid, knee, please please please go on a diet.
